Many of us share memories of wisened loved ones who have pocketed a veritable toolbelt in their palm. The culmination of more than two years of design and prototyping, Craighill presents us now with a lean, but no less compelling alternative. Thoroughly distilled, this folding knife strips away all of the gadgets and gizmos, yet still somehow feels both distinctive and entirely familiar.
Now down to brass tacks: the Rook Knife is a frame-lock folding knife with martensitic-stainless-steel, drop-point blade and a flipper mechanism for easy one-handed opening. Constructed entirely from metal, it's slimmer than most folding knives, but with greater density and heft. The Stainless version is monochromatic and beautifully reflective, with the unified materiality highlighting the nuances of the overall form. En garde!
